Book Description

The online purchase of mascara that arrived in a cardboard box nine times larger than the object within, and an inspirational article in The Guardian underlining specific facts about the ongoing issue of overpackaging, became the starting point for this limited edition.

Over a period of a month additional data relating to received postal deliveries was collected, and the cubic meters of wasted space within each package established.

Each page of this concertina book illustrates one of the seven items and through proportional representation highlights the disparity between the object and packaging.

The book title refers to 85 million cubic meters of air which are delivered to our homes each year as a result of overpackaging. The book is comprised of mono-printing, pressure printing and letterpress and presented within a brown paper sleeve.
